Seaweed Society
In 2019, Danni founded the Seaweed Society, a community organisation dedicated to experimental practice with seaweed.
The Seaweed Society explores seaweed as a collaborator – a marine organism with many interconnections between land and sea, algal and vegetal, human and non-human.
Seaweed Society events include forages, talks, performances, readings, cooking demonstrations, workshops and more. Topics include but are not limited to: habitat; distribution; shells; jellyfish; sponges; fish; sand; reefs (natural and artificial); tides and moons.
The Gold Coast Seaweed Society meets monthly on the full moon.
